§ Mr. PickthornI beg to move, in page 14, line 9, to leave out "date", and insert "day."
I requested the Minister to consider whether in page 4, line 24, he ought not to have the word "day" instead of the word "date." I think that in the hurry any reply on that matter was overlooked. Here I am inclined to think that "day" is the right word. It seems to me quite certain that the two words ought to be the same. It should either be
…for the said day such later day…or…for the said date such later date…I do not give, what I think it is in Parliamentary Order to call a damn, but I think it is preferable to insert one or the other.
§ Mr. IsaacsIf this was the last Amendment on the Order Paper we might "call it a day" We propose to accept the hon. Gentleman's Amendment. We will consider whether the word "day" or "date" should be used elsewhere if necessary.
§ Amendment agreed to.
