§ 79. Mr. Heathcoat Amory
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the present policy as regards prison labour.
§ Mr. Oliver
All prisoners who are fit for labour are employed for a full working day on work the nature of which depends upon the age, sex, classification and location of the prisoner. The general aim is to provide work that is both productive and of value from the point of view of training, but if the hon. Member will tell me with what particular aspect of policy he is concerned I will be glad to give him further information.
