asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will consider increasing the amount of coal allocated to paper mills who are finding difficulty in maintaining even their present low output of paper.

I am aware of the difficulties which many paper mills are now experiencing in view of the present level of their coal supplies. The allocations to paper mills will be kept under review in the light of the supply situation.
