HC Deb 19 March 1947 vol 435 c394
26. Mr. Cooper-Key

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether, in view of the fact that the Third Programme is inaudible in the Hastings area, he will consider the reinstatement of the local relay station on 203 metres wavelength and, in the meantime, represent to the B.B.C. that the 261 metres wavelength be used for the Third Programme.

Mr. Burke

The B.B.C. are still considering the best methods of extending the Third Programme coverage, and they do not contemplate reinstatement of the local transmitter at Hastings at present. The 261 metres wavelength is already in use to give adequate coverage for the Light Programme.
