HC Deb 19 March 1947 vol 435 c393
30. Mr. Cuthbert

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General if, in view of the fact that the Post Office surplus was £30,000,000 and the cost of the reduction of ½d. on the postage of all letters would he £7,900,000, he will now make this reduction.

Mr. Burke

I regret that I must not anticipate my right hon. Friend's Budget Statement.
