HC Deb 01 July 1947 vol 439 c1132
31. Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for War whether arrangements will now be made so that prisoners of war who are relatives can be put together in the same camp.

Mr. J. Freeman

Since 1st January, applications from close relatives to be posted to the same camp have, as a rule, been approved.

Mr. Stokes

Is my hon. Friend aware that since 1st January I have made repeated representations in this matter and that every one has been turned down, and will he make quite sure that his own instructions on this matter are seen and understood by those concerned?

Mr. Freeman

Perhaps my hon. Friend's definition of a close relative is not the same as mine.

Mr. Stokes

Can my hon. Friend think of a closer relationship than brothers?
