§ 35. Mr. Wyattasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that there is a considerable demand from youth organisations of all descriptions to obtain the use of small disused Army camps, such as anti-aircraft sites, for camping purposes during the summer months; and what steps he proposes to take to make such camps available.
Mr. FreemanYes, Sir. Such applications are approved if they are made by a reputable voluntary organisation or are supported by a local education authority, and provided they do not prejudice military requirements and would not involve delay in releasing requisitioned property.
§ Mr. WyattWould my hon. Friend make it more widely known that such applications will be accepted, and to whom the applications should be made?
Mr. FreemanPreferably they should be made to the local military authorities. As regards the first part of my hon. Friend's supplementary question, many such applications have in fact been made.
