asked the Minister of Transport if he has considered the use of portable flashing signalling devices for use at crossing places which children use when going to and from school; and, in particular, if he will give special attention to a cheap and simple device, details of which have been sent to him.

Yes, Sir. Whilst portable flashing signal devices are useful for certain purposes I consider that police or adult patrols are the best means of supplementing the protection to schoolchildren given by the authorised "School" warning sign.
