HC Deb 06 February 1947 vol 432 cc1959-60
53. Mr. Stanley Prescott

asked the Minister of Labour if his attention has been directed to the difficulty experienced by many unskilled men, aged 50 years or over, in obtaining employment; and, in view of shortage of manpower and in the interests of such men, what steps he is taking in this connection.

The Minister of Labour (Mr. Isaacs)

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Coventry (Mr. Edelman) on this matter on 21st November last, and I can assure him that everything possible is being done for these men.
