HC Deb 06 February 1947 vol 432 cc1948-9
45. Mr. Bossom

asked the Prime Minister whether he will take action to ensure that a site chosen by a local authority for housing purposes should not be rejected by the Ministry of Town and Country Planning after being approved by the Ministry of Health.

The Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee)

I understand that the site which the hon. Member has in mind was approved by neither of the two Departments referred to. The circumstances of this case do not therefore indicate any lack of co-ordination between them.

Mr. Bossom

Is the Prime Minister aware that the Minister of Health was asked to send a representative, which he did, and that this representative said that the site was entirely satisfactory and that he could not see why they should not go ahead with the building, a decision which was put into writing?

The Prime Minister

The information I have from the Department does not agree with that of the hon. Member.
