HC Deb 07 August 1947 vol 441 c1645
55. Mr. Erroll

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what is the total revenue derived from the sale abroad of oil accruing from the world-wide operations of the British oil industry; and what expenditure of foreign currency in the form of concession fees, royalties, foreign equipment, labour and other local services is involved in securing this revenue.

The Financial Secretary to the Treasury (Mr. Glenvil Hall)

In 1946, sales about £100 millions. There are no figures to show what part of the industry's foreign exchange expenditure is related to these sales.
