HC Deb 31 October 1946 vol 428 c782
56. Mr. Austin

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will now rescind the wartime emergency powers granted to factory inspectors of permitting juveniles under 16 years of age to work more than 44 hours per week.

Mr. Isaacs

By the end of last August the number of such permissions had fallen to 600, as compared with over 12,000 at the cessation of hostilities. I am having detailed inquiry made with a view to considering whether the remainder can all be brought to an end by the end of this year.
