HC Deb 29 October 1946 vol 428 c419
1. Mr. Digby

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning what is his policy with regard to agreements between joint planning authorities and local owners of land.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Town and Country Planning (Mr. Fred Marshall)

All agreements made between landowners and local planning authorities require my right hon. Friend's approval and are considered on their merits. General policy, however, is to approve such agreements wherever their provisions are in harmony with the essential planning requirements.

Mr. Digby

Is it then not the policy of the Minister to discourage such agreements in future?

Mr. Marshall

I would not say that; I do not think it is.
