HC Deb 29 October 1946 vol 428 cc419-20
2. Mr. Digby

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning whether he is now in a position to state the new policy in conformity with which joint planning authorities should prepare their new outline schemes.

Mr. F. Marshall

No, Sir; but my right hon. Friend hopes shortly to be in a position to issue a series of advisory handbooks to guide local planning authorities generally on the essential features of outline planning. In the meantime, our Regional Planning Officers are available to advise planning authorities on any immediate problems.

Mr. Digby

Is the Minister aware that the absence of this policy is making it very difficult to have a consistent policy throughout the country among planning authorities?

Mr. Marshall

I hope we shall remedy that very shortly.
