asked the Minister of Transport the number of local authorities in Scotland, England and Wales who own and operate passenger transport services.

Mr. Barnes

There are 94 local authorities, including joint boards or committees, who own and operate passenger transport services, of whom 82 are in England, eight in Wales and four in Scotland.
