HC Deb 28 October 1946 vol 428 c255
1. Mr. Digby

asked the Minister of Supply how many types of British motor cars, of 20 horse-power or over, are being produced to meet the demand abroad for motor cars of this size; and how many of these motor cars have so far been exported.

The Minister of Supply (Mr. John Wilmot)

Six models are now being produced. During the first nine months of this year 636 cars of this class were produced for export.

Mr. Digby

Is the Minister aware that this figure is very unsatisfactory, and is further evidence of the fact that we cannot hope to maintain our position in the Continental market unless more large cars are produced?
