§ 28. Mr. Collinsasked the Minister of Education if she is aware that an order for surplus Government stores listed by her Department was placed by Taunton School through the local education authority on 14th March, 1946; that nothing more was heard of the matter until 3rd October, when her Department sent a request for further details of the goods ordered; and if she will give an explanation of this delay and an assurance that no further lists of disposal goods will be issued unless the supplies offered are available for early delivery.
§ Miss WilkinsonI regret the delay in this case for which, as my hon. Friend now knows, my Department was not responsible. The information required has been received and the order has been sponsored and passed to the Ministry of Supply. Lists of disposal goods are intended, when issued, to indicate the types of goods which are expected to be available for early delivery
§ Mr. CollinsWill my right hon. Friend introduce another improvement in these lists and print the prices and a full description of the articles, which will be a much more satisfactory way for the people who have to order the goods?
§ Miss WilkinsonWe have gone into the whole of this question very fully, and the way in which it is done is receiving general approval.
