HC Deb 24 October 1946 vol 428 cc19-20
29. Mr. Logan

asked the Minister of Education is she is aware that St. Alban's School. Boundary Street, Liverpool, was bombed five years ago; that young children are now scattered in various schools; that there is danger to child life in going to these schools; and what arrangement she is prepared to make, seeing that the Liverpool authorities have not erected a temporary structure in this area to supplant the old school.

Miss Wilkinson

I understand that proposals for the provision of classrooms were submitted to the local education authority by the managers of St. Alban's school only last week.

Mr. Logan

Am I to understand that the Minister is prepared to give accommodation in that area for the children after waiting six years?

Miss Wilkinson

Until specific proposals are given to me, I am afraid I cannot commit myself in advance.
