asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps he is taking to enlarge the British Information Services in the U.S.A.

Mr. Bevin

It is not at present intended to increase the expenditure or staff of British Information Services. The whole organisation is now being examined by the Ambassador and the newly appointed head of the Services, with a view to maintaining it at maximum efficiency.

Mr. Driberg

Could my right hon. Friend say by how much, roughly, they have been cut down since the end of the war?

I should want notice of that.
