HC Deb 09 October 1946 vol 427 cc183-4
36. Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

asked the Attorney-General what action he is proposing to take on the Final Report of the Departmental Committee on Alternative Remedies.

The Attorney-General

I have nothing yet to add to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Merioneth (Mr. Emrys Roberts) on 31st July last. The subject is still under consideration.

Mr. Renton

Will the Attorney-General bear in mind that, if nothing is done before the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) and National Insurance Acts come into operation, the present confusion in the law will be worse confounded, and will he consider introducing legislation well before the appointed day?

The Attorney-General

We have that point well in mind.
