HC Deb 06 November 1946 vol 428 c1370
22. Sir T. Moore

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation what instructions he has issued to the corporations charged with the conduct of civil aviation in regard to safety conditions.

Mr. Lindǵren

My noble Friend takes the view that it should be a strict rule that operations must be restricted within the over-riding limits imposed by safety considerations, and is satisfied that the boards of the three airways corporations fully share this view.

Sir T. Moore

Is the hon. Gentleman quite satisfied that perhaps an undue emphasis is being placed on these safety considerations, which might well hamper our whole future in civil aviation?

Mr. Lindǵren

My noble Friend takes the view that safety is the first consideration.
