§ 2 and 3. Mr. Sparksasked the Minister of Works (1) if he will make a statement showing the progress made in carrying out the functions of Section 1 (1) of the Building Materials and Housing Act, 1945;
(2) if he will state to the nearest convenient date the amounts paid into, and paid out of, the Building Materials and Housing Fund showing, separately, the amounts allocated in accordance with Section 2 (2) of the Building Materials and Housing Act, 1945.
§ Mr. TomlinsonI would ask my hon. Friend to await the first statement of accounts of the Building Materials and Housing Fund, which will be published shortly.
§ Mr. SparksIn regard to Question No. 2, could my right hon. Friend indicate to what extent he is able to assist local authorities to carry out the work undertaken under Section 5 of the Housing Act, 1936? Is that assistance mainly confined to temporary housing, or is it to assist the undertaking of permanent housing development?
§ Mr. TomlinsonI cannot give details without notice, but it applies, I think, to both.
