asked the Minister of Works whether he will give an assurance that Trafalgar Square will shortly be cleared of Government advertisements and other excrescences, and will be kept clear.

Mr. Tomlinson

The posters on Nelson's Column have already been removed, and I hope that Trafalgar Square will shortly be cleared of the temporary buildings erected during the war, and that it will be possible to keep it free from advertisements and temporary buildings in future.
