asked the Minister of Works how many hotels, large houses, small houses and flats, respectively, in the London CD. region, have been derequisitioned by the Government for use as dwelling accommodation since 7th February, 1946.

Mr. Tomlinson

The total number or hotels, large houses, small houses and flats derequisitioned in the London Civil Defence region between 1st February and 30th April, 1946, was 1,883, made up as follows:—Six hotels, 89 large houses, 1,231 small houses, and 557 flats. In addition, requisitioning Departments have transferred to the Ministry of Health for housing 240 properties consisting of 59 large houses, 135 small houses, and 46 flats.

Would the Minister give an assurance that everything possible is being done to expedite this?
