HC Deb 20 May 1946 vol 423 c15
38. Colonel Lancaster

asked the Minister of Supply how many tons of steel production it is estimated have been lost during the last three months owing to insufficient deliveries of coal.

Mr. Wilmot

Approximately 100,000 tons, Sir.

Colonel Lancaster

Is the recent closing down of furnaces in Lincolnshire due to lack of coal or a hold-up of transport?

Mr. Wilmot

I have not information about particular plants with me. Perhaps the hon. and gallant Member will put down that question.
