HC Deb 20 May 1946 vol 423 c15
36. Captain Marsden

asked the Minister of Supply if he is now in a position to announce the decision of His Majesty's Government in relation to the resumption of free trading in metals.

Mr. Wilmot

The future long term arrangements for marketing these metals are under consideration. Meanwhile, in view of the present world supply position and other factors, it will be necessary to continue for some time the existing arrangements for Government purchase of the main non-ferrous metals.
