§ 44. Mr. A. Lewisasked the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production whether, in view of the large amount of semiskilled and general workers engaged in the motor industry, he will consider extending the representation on the National Advisory Council for the motor manufacturing industry, to include representatives from the general workers' trade unions.
§ Mr. WilmotIt would not be possible to include on this Advisory council in- 18 dividual representatives of all the trade unions with membership in the motor industries.
§ Mr. LewisWhile I appreciate the reply, may I ask my right hon. Friend whether he is aware that craft unions are represented, but that there is no representative from any of the general unions, although there are hundreds of thousands of general workers in the industry? Will he review the matter?
§ Mr. WilmotTwo very experienced trade unionists are members of this council, and I think they will be able to give me all the advice of which I may stand in need.
