asked the Minister of War Transport if he will reinstate the issue of return tickets on the Green Line routes of L.P.T.B.

Mr. Barnes

In restoring the present limited services of Green Line coaches, I decided that in general single tickets only should be issued for the present. I shall review the question of issuing return tickets later on.

Mr. Davies

Will my right hon. Friend give the reasons for issuing only single tickets, and is he aware of the great inconvenience caused to the workers of this country?

Mr. Barnes

There is more than one reason, but I would ask my hon. Friend to hear in mind that the railway com- panies are unable at the present moment to operate—[HON. MEMBERS: "We cannot hear "]—many of their normal facilities.
