Mr. De la Bèreasked the Prime Minister if he will give an assurance that Canada has been, and will continue to be, kept fully informed of our arrangements with the U.S.A., and give favourable consideration to an amendment to the loan agreement with the U.S.A. to enable the Canadian Government to make proposals for a further loan should they desire to do so.

Member the assurance for which he asks, that the Government of Canada are kept fully informed of arrangements of interest to them which we make with the United States Government. On the latter part of the Question, there is nothing in the Anglo-American Financial Agreement which affects the amount of money that we may borrow from Canada.
Mr. De la BèreIs the Prime Minister aware that in numerous sections of the Press a statement appeared to the effect that the Canadian Government were anxious to grant a further loan, larger and on even more favourable terms than the exceedingly generous loan that they have already granted, but that they were pre vented from doing so by an agreement entered into with America?
