HC Deb 14 March 1946 vol 420 c1256
9. Sir G. Fox

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will consider increasing the pension of police pensioners who rejoined the forces during the recent emergency, in consideration of their war service

Mr. Ede

No, Sir. I fully appreciate the valuable services rendered by police pensioners who served in the First Police Reserve during the war, but I should not feel justified in introducing legislation for the purpose suggested by the hon. Member. I would remind him that reservists continued to receive their pensions throughout their re-engaged service in addition to pay and war supplement.
