asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has received any reply from the Soviet Government to his recent proposal for the extension of the 20 years pact of mutual friendship to one of 50 years.

No, Sir. The Soviet Government have not pursued the suggestion which my right hon. Friend made to Generalissimo Stalin last December that our Treaty of Friendship should be extended to a period of 50 years.
