asked the Minister of Agriculture what committees are responsible for preparing local schemes of agricultural education; and if he is requiring them to forward to him their development plans.

Under Section 42 of the Education Act, 1944, it is the duty of each local Education Authority, when required by the Minister of Education, to submit a scheme for the provision of further education, including agricultural education, for its area. My right hon. Friend is proposing to fix a date for the submission of such schemes as soon as practicable.
