HC Deb 05 June 1946 vol 423 c1981
23. Mr. M. MacMillan

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, to what extent it is the intention of His Majesty's Government to encourage, facilitate, and later, initiate air transportation of lobsters and fish from the Outer Hebrides to the markets, in order to eliminate deterioration and loss of these valuable foods due to present transport delays and consequent financial loss to the fishermen.

Mr. Ivor Thomas

This problem has been fully and sympathetically studied for some time past but the many difficulties are for the time being intractable. My Noble Friend will keep the matter closely in mind against the time when it may become practicable.
