HC Deb 05 June 1946 vol 423 c2002
68. Mr. D. Marshall

asked the Minister of Food whether he will charge the transport levy in respect of dogfish only on the skinned weight, since long-line fishermen are unable, by reason of the damage caused to their hands, to skin this fish before first sale, and thereby suffer financial hardship.

Mr. Strachey

I cannot accept this particular suggestion as a suitable solution of the dogfish difficulty, but I have asked that the possibility should be looked into of helping long line fishermen to get the fish skinned, ashore, before first sale.
