HC Deb 16 July 1946 vol 425 c1043
49. Mr. Medland

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what is the number of males in displaced persons' camps in Germany between the ages of 18 and 65 years; to what extent they are engaged in useful work; and what is the cost of maintaining these camps chargeable to this country.

Mr. J. Hynd

There are about 176,000 such persons in the British zone of Germany. I am having inquiries made regarding the remaining parts of the Question, and will communicate further with my hon. Friend.
