HC Deb 09 July 1946 vol 425 cc206-7
3. Mr. William Shepherd

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware of the unsatisfactory nature of transit camps for other ranks within the British Zone in Germany; and what is being done to bring these up to a satisfactory level.

Mr. Lawson

According to my information the general standard of these camps is satisfactory. If the hon. Member knows of any specific complaint and will let me have details, I will look into it.

Mr. Shepherd

Is the Minister aware that the drivers of vehicles in the British zone very often prefer to sleep in their lorries or cars because of the unsatisfactory nature of the small camps?

Mr. Lawson

I will take note of that.
