HC Deb 28 February 1946 vol 419 c2094
34. Captain Baird

asked the Minister of Health, when the houses at 25, 33, 37 and 43 Park Lane, Wolverhampton, at present partly used as offices and partly unoccupied, will be released for housing purposes.

The Minister of Health (Mr. Aneurin Bevan)

These premises will be made available for housing purposes as soon as the firm in occupation can find other accommodation for their business, which I understand they are making every effort to do.

Captain Baird

Does the right hon. Gentleman know that I have had my information from a responsible trade unionist who stated that these houses could be let for housing purposes without any drawback to the firm's business?

Mr. Bevan

I must remind the hon. and gallant Member that these premises had been acquired before the issue of the circular which authorises local authorities to take possession, and therefore some other accommodation has to be found for the stores. But I will certainly follow up the matter.
