HC Deb 26 February 1946 vol 419 cc1747-8
70. Mr. Champion

asked the Minister of Information if he will take steps to secure a repeat during the following morning, of the B.B.C. survey "Today in Parliament"; and a repeat at suitable times of the item "The Week in Westminster."

The Assistant Postmaster-General (Mr.Burke)

In the absence of my right hon. Friend I have been asked to reply. I will convey the hon. Member's suggestions to the B.B.C.

Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

Does not the hon. Gentleman realise that a considerable number of people who, unlike ourselves, go to bed early, like to have "Today in Parliament" given after the nine o'clock news?

Mr. Burke

I am sure the B.B.C. attaches the greatest importance to the report of Parliamentary proceedings.

Major Cecil Poole

Would not the Minister agree that unless we have a more truthful and less biased statement than we have had recently in "The Week in Westminster" we are far better without it?
