HC Deb 25 February 1946 vol 419 cc1544-5
26. Mr. Boothby

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will prohibit the export of marine engines for fishing craft until the requirements of the fishing industry in this country have been satisfied.

Sir S. Cripps

No, Sir, but my right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production is making investigations with a view to securing an increase in the availability of engines for the fishing industry of this country.

Mr. Boothby

Can the right hon. and learned Gentleman say how long these investigations are likely to take?

Sir S. Cripps

Perhaps the hon. Member will put that Question to my right hon. Friend.
