HC Deb 25 February 1946 vol 419 cc1546-7
34. Mr. Skeffington

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many consumer industries have now been deconcentrated; and whether he is prepared to issue a statement on this subject.

Sir S. Cripps

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on 22nd January to the hon. and gallant Member for Glasgow, Central (Colonel J. R Hutchison). By the beginning of this year, in those industries for which my Department is responsible, 750 factories had been given permission to reopen, and 360 applications were under consideration, out of the total of 3,160 factories closed under concentration.
