§ 1. Captain Sir Peter Macdonaldasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the Egyptian representations with regard to the Sudan and the British note in reply thereto, he will issue a White Paper setting out the exact position of the Sudan and the responsibilities of this country in connection therewith.
§ The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Ernest Bevin)As laid down in Article 11 of the Anglo-Egyptian Treaty of 1936, the administration of 1122 the Sudan continues to be that resulting from the Anglo-Egyptian Agreements of 19th January and 10th July, 1899. Those Agreements are to be found in British and Foreign State Papers, Volume 91, pages 19-22. I do not therefore think that the publication of a White Paper would serve any useful purpose.
