§ Mr. BarnesThe railway companies are giving this matter close attention. The L.M.S. have two diesel locomotives on order for experimental purposes. The Southern Railway are proposing to carry out trials. The hon. Member may also like to know that the G.W.R. have placed orders for two gas turbine locomotives for use on long-distance services.
