HC Deb 02 December 1946 vol 431 c32
96. Mr. Medlicott

asked the Minister of Works if he is aware that the completion of a number of houses in Norfolk is being held up owing to the shortage of sheet glass; and what steps are being taken to hasten deliveries.

Mr. Tomlinson

Only three cases of delay caused by shortage of glass in Norfolk have been referred to my Department. Of these, one has already been met, and the other two will be met very shortly.

Mr. Medlicott

It I give the Minister some further examples will he also deal with them?

Mr. Tomlinson

Yes, Sir.

97. Mr. David Renton

asked the Minister of Works whether he is aware that the temporary housing scheme of the Huntingdon Borough Council is held up owing to the failure of his Department to deliver glass; and when delivery of that glass may be expected.

Mr. Tomlinson

I had not previously been informed of any shortage of glass in this area, but the manufacturers have now arranged to meet any outstanding demands by the end of this week.
