HC Deb 02 December 1946 vol 431 c31
85. Sir W. Smithers

asked the Minister of Works how many persons appeared before a board of inquiry as a result of the complaint received by him last September of black-market building operations in Nazeing Parish in the county of Essex; and whether he will now give the name or names of those who have been exonerated as the result of his Departmental inquiry.

The Minister of Works (Mr. Tomlinson)

Alleged infringements of Regulation 56A are investigated by my Officers and no board of inquiry is necessary. In one of the two cases reported in the parish of Nazeing, inquiries are still proceeding. In the other case, no prima facie evidence of infringement was disclosed.

Sir W. Smithers

Will the right hon. Gentleman answer the last part of the question, "whether he will now give the name or names of those who have been exonerated?"

Mr. Tomlinson

There is no question of exoneration.
