101. Mr. R. A. Butler

asked the Undersecretary of State for India whether he will give an assurance that this House will be informed in advance of any general measure to terminate or vary the engagements of officers holding His Majesty's commission in the Indian Army.

I shall be glad to do, my best to inform the House in advance of any such measure as that referred to by the right hon. Gentleman.

Can the hon. and learned Gentleman say whether any such Measure is in the offing or proposed by the Government?

Mr. Henderson

No, Sir, I do not think there is any further decision yet.
