HC Deb 10 April 1946 vol 421 cc1916-7
36. Sir T. Moore

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, to what extent will the existing operating companies in Scotland be utilised in the scheme recently announced for the organisation of civil aviation to and from Scotland.

Mr. Ivor Thomas

In accordance with the policy of His Majesty's Government, as embodied in the Civil Aviation Bill, it is not intended to make use of the companies as such. But the staffs of those companies which were operating on 1st November last, the date on which the Government's policy for civil aviation was announced, will be offered employment with the new Corporation on conditions of service not less favourable than those under which they have hitherto been employed.

Sir T. Moore

In case I am lucky enough to catch your eve, Mr. Speaker, in the civil aviation Debate, I will withhold any further inquiry now.
