HC Deb 09 April 1946 vol 421 c1777
19. Mr. Piratin

asked the Minister of Works why licences were granted to several stores and shops in Oxford Street, London, W.1, for the installation of neon lighting, in view of the fact that lighting for advertisement purposes is prohibited.

Mr. Tomlinson

No licences have been issued for the installation of new neon signs in Oxford Street. If my hon. Friend has any particular case in mind where new neon lighting is being installed I shall be glad to look into it immediately.
