asked the President of the Board of Trade how many cases have been notified to him in which the manufacture of paint in this country is being held up due to the inability to obtain the necessary lead.

No specific cases of this kind have been notified to the Board of Trade.

Would the hon. Gentleman give an assurance that manufacturers will not be delayed in making this essential and important material?

Mr. Belcher

There are all kinds of difficulties in connection with the paint industry, and we are doing our best to meet them.
