I understand that a Court of Inquiry has already been held and that the proceedings are on their way to this country. As soon as he has 1643 received the Court of Inquiry proceedings and the full report for which he has called, my right hon. Friend will consider what further action should be taken.
§ Mr. StewartIs the Prime Minister aware that the Secretary of State for War last Tuesday indicated that it was not clear in his mind whether his Department or the Colonial Office were responsible, and, therefore, may I ask the Prime Minister to consider whether his answer is complete?
§ The Prime MinisterI have clarified the point on which there was any doubt by saving, "My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for War."
§ Earl WintertonIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that those of us who take a deep interest in this country are most deeply concerned, and we would like to have the fullest possible information at the appropriate time?

§ Mr. StewartIs it the intention of the Government, as there is very widespread interest in this matter, to make a public statement on the point?
