HC Deb 17 October 1945 vol 414 cc1162-3
Mr. Eden

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman the Leader of the House whether, in view of the wide and deep interest taken in this subject by hon. Members of all parts of the House and of the large number who may be anxious to catch Mr. Speaker's eye, he will consider giving us an extra hour for to-day's Debate?

The Lord President of the Council (Mr. Herbert Morrison)

I think the request of the right hon. Gentleman is a reasonable one and one that is in accord with the general feeling of the House on all sides. In the circumstances, I beg to move, That the Proceedings on the Motion relative to Housing Shortage be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House) for one hour after a Quarter past Nine o'Clock.

Mr. Maxton
